Good Evening

Congratulations to the U10 boys for achieving a very credible
2nd place at Harleston today. An unusually small squad of 8 players turned
up to compete today and worked tirelessly for 5 games. First up were
Harleston B, they were swiftly dispatched with a 4-0 win with the Pelicans
keeper not touching the ball. All 4 goals were scored by captain Sam
Phillips, 3 from open play and 1 penalty corner. After a quick break the
team took on Norwich Dragons with the same result, 3 goals for Sam and a
first goal for Josh Ampomah and still not a ball touched by the
keeper.

The next game was always going to be the toughest but the boys
were full of confidence by this time. Harleston A also came into the match
undefeated and it was a close game. An early goal from Sam
Phillips unsettled Harleston but they managed to convert to draw level.
Both teams missed further chances and it remained tight to the end,
unfortunately Harleston got a late break and converted so the match
finished at 1-2.

This didn't seem to shake anybody's confidence and the whole
team went into the next game against Norwich City B with the same enthusiasm and
energy. This time the goals were more evenly spread with Harry Fox and Shen Wei
Lim both scoring their first goals with another 2 from Sam Phillips giving
another 4-0 result.

Game 5 against Norwich City A was the first time the team
looked to be tiring, chances were made by both teams but non converted and the
game finished 0-0.

New boys Joseph Pink and Alistair Kerry showed promise, Shen
Wei Lim's new found confidence was great to see and along with Harry Fox, Tom
Towler and Josh Ampomah it really was a great team effort for the day.
Special mention must go to Sam Phillips who scored a massive 10
goals and James Kerry, in goal, who played for both the U10's and
U12's - a total of 12 consecutive games without a break.

Well done everyone - wear those medals with
pride!
