[Dxspider-support] First time CVS update ?

Hi.

Today I did my first CVS update on oz5bbs-7. It sort of went ok, but I have seen some
strange things following the CVS.

For example several of my users have reported that they had to do a "set/noecho"
eventhough they had it set before the update.

Also it seems like my own profile totally disappeared in the proccess. When I logged in
after the update, I had to do "set/noann", set/noecho", set/nodxgrid" and some other
things. That had for some reason just been forgotten.

Now, this is what I did following the manual step by step. The base is a official 1.49
upgraded with CVSlatest.tgz to 56.940.

I logged in as sysop and shut down spider. Then I did

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous at cvs.DXSpider.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/dxspider login

Got a prompt back and pushed Enter.

Then I did

cd /tmp

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous at cvs.DXSpider.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/dxspider co
spider (in one line)

tar cvfz /tmp/s.tgz spider
cd /
tar xvfzp /tmp/s.tgz

A lot of things then scrolled accross the monitor, and I was returned to the linux prompt.

Now, I went to start cluster.pl but was told to RTFM as I obviously had to do a
create_sysop.pl or a update_sysop.pl. I am sorry that I can't exactly remember which of
these I was told to do. But it was working 100% before I did the CVS, so I have no idea
what happened to the sysop info that was there before the update.
