Hi Dave,

Are you running linux? When using ax25d you might want to change the
parameter voor ssid accepting in ax25d.conf (%s and %u) in the line for your
cluster.
I noticed the first (succesful) connect was without SSID, the second with
SSID.
Try set/spider VA3PEC (so without SSID) for trying this option.

Onderwerp: [Dxspider-support] Help Setting Up New Node

I am new to packet clusters and am trying to set up a new facility in
our area. The basic scenario is as follows. There will be a node at my
house (VE3BIP-7) which will act as an Internet to RF gateway. It will
connect to another node (VA3PEC-5) which will serve the local users. We
are having a problem getting the two nodes to connect and I am hoping
someone on the list can offer some hints.

When regular user tries to connect to VE3BIP-7 it is successful. Here is
a few lines of output from the "listen" program which shows the basic
startup sequence

2m: fm VE3UO to VE3BIP-7 ctl SABM+ 20:00:23
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VE3UO ctl UA- 20:00:23
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VE3UO ctl I00^ pid=F0(Text) len 196 20:00:24
Hello Tim, this is VE3BIP-7 in Belleville, Ontario
running DXSpider V1.51 build 57.191
Cluster: 1 nodes, 1 local / 1 total users Max users 1 Uptime 0 00:02
VE3UO de VE3BIP-7 18-Feb-2003 0100Z >

When the other node, VA3PEC-5, tries to connect I get the following
sequence

2m: fm VA3PEC-5 to VE3BIP-7 ctl SABM+ 20:29:30
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl UA- 20:29:30
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DISC+ 20:29:31
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DISC+ 20:29:41
2m: fm VA3PEC-5 to VE3BIP-7 ctl SABM+ 20:29:43
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DM- 20:29:43
2m: fm VA3PEC-5 to VE3BIP-7 ctl SABM+ 20:29:56
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DM- 20:29:56
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DISC+ 20:30:01
2m: fm VE3UGT to VA3PEC-5 ctl SABM+ 20:30:07
2m: fm VA3PEC-5 to VE3BIP-7 ctl SABM+ 20:30:09
2m: fm VE3BIP-7 to VA3PEC-5 ctl DM- 20:30:09

As you can see the two sequences start in the same way but for the
VA3PEC-5 case the third message is a disconnect message. I have
set/spider VA3PEC-5.

Does anyone have any idea why these two connections are being treated
differently. Any suggestions as to things I should check/debug?

Thanks,
Dave VE3BIP
