Puzzling Dirk as rpm -q j2re
j2re-1.4.2_03-1mdk

So java is installed and as far as I know others see it.
using galeon you get the steaming teacup, mozilla dos'nt show it.

the test.cgi script works on both browers
and the plugin is installed

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      67 Apr 20 13:08 libjavaplugin_oji.so
-> /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so*

[root at gb7tf plugins]# cd /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/

[root at gb7tf ns610-gcc32]# ls
libjavaplugin_oji.so*

now I'm real puzzled
