[Dxspider-support] Info about web cluster win winxp 2nd msg, tnx for answare

There are probably six or more web servers that run on WinXP Pro. However,
the two most popular are IIS from Micro$oft and the free open source Apache.

However, my instructions are *not* going to include how to install,
configure, secure, manage, and maintain a web server. There are thousands
of pages of documents on the web on how to do that. My instructions are
going to start with "you have a currently running web server" and go from
there.

I must also advise you that if you are going to do this, you need to read a
lot about securing your web server. If you don't do a good job securing
your web server, you leave yourself open to attacks on the machine running
the web server as well as any machines on the same LAN.

David, in addition to Mirko, I would be interested to know if/how a
web user interface can be set up in Windows.

I am running XP Pro and my server is IIS.

        Thanks,
        Eric GB7CGL-1

I have not tried this yet, but I'm going to over the next several
weeks.
I'll try and write up some instructions. But first, two questions.
Are you
running WinXP Pro or WinXP Home? Which web server are you planning
to use
        on your WinXP box?
