You may find that, on unix type boxes, this will work:-

cd /spider
tar cfz /tmp/spider-backup.tgz .
find . -name Root -exec echo ":pserver:anonymous at cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/dxspider" > {} \;

I don't think it is such an issue under windows.
