Also, there are portions of the all-Spider network which block PC12s
in both directions at the gateway node. An example is the Frankford
Radio Club cluster of nodes which all connect to a central hub, and
the hub has a gateway connection to the larger Spider network. This
allows unrestricted use of announce within the FRC user base, without
concern that announcements of local interest will be offensive to
others worldwide. The downside of this (as I understand it) is that
CHAT will only work within our cluster.
I believe that our users are unaware of this CHAT functionality, and
just use the TALK function for one-on-one or ANN FULL for cluster-
wide announcements. This has worked well for us so far.
