I have been receiving WWV bulletins and RWC Boulder Solar alerts for a
while and, in fit of production, have interfaced this to the system.

>From now on, GB7DJK will be sending CHAT messages out to group SOLAR
with the alerts and WWV data from these two sources.

In addition, I have for some time now been sending out daily URSIGRAM
bulletins from SIDC in Belgium. These are messages sent to all with the
subject 'SIDC Ursigram $date'.

Hope this will prove useful.

For those of a programming turn of mind, there are some sample programs
in CVS (called importwwv.pl, importkeps.pl and process_ursa.pl). The
first one creates chat messages which are imported to the group which
forms the first part of the filename (viz: solar.txt.1234 = SOLAR), the
others convert mail into normal messages.

PLEASE PLEASE do not run these yourselves. Only one station needs to run
them and everybody should then get the data through the network. They
are provided as examples.

In order to do these sorts of things you need to make sure that (in
*nux) you:

 chmod 1777 /spider/tmp /spider/chat_import /spider/msg/import

Have first made sure that you create any missing directories.
