[Dxspider-support] CVS version

Is there any particular trick to getting cvs working under linux (RH( to
be specific ) I followed the installation instructions but no joy. I
have CVS installed on the box and it appears to work ok with other
packages but for DXspider I get the following 

[sysop at redbox spider]$ cvs -z3 update -d
cvs [update aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer
[sysop at redbox spider]$
