Removing swop.pl does absolutely nothing. You have to to change it and
then do 'load/swop'.

You have not show us the contents of the offending swop line but it
should read something like:

'B', 'T', '^DX$', 'T', 'DXNEWS',
              ^
              |
         Note the $ character

But could it ask: why change it at all? bulls to DX have been around and
are well distributed (in the UK at least) for years. How does changing
'DX' to 'DXNEWS' help?
