[Dxspider-support] user_asc / users.v3 problem

Hello.

After the latest perl security update (5.6.1-8.8) on Debian/stable, my
cluster (IR4X-6) again has the usual corrupt userfile problem, resulting
in perl eating all the cpu and spider not working at all.

After digging the ml archives a bit, I tried stopping the program,
removing it from inittab, running "perl user_asc" and restarting but it
hangs again after a very short while. Also tried using the ".o*" files
as sources, but the result is the same. First time it happened, running
"perl user_asc" fixed it quickly, no such luck this time.

More archive digging and I also tried deleting users.v3, recreating the
sysops, restarting, resetting peer nodes' properties and... again, a
little while then it hangs again.

Dirk (or anyone with similar stories to tell)... any clues? I'm not a
perl-hacker but I am fairly competent in Linux, I don't mind getting my
hands dirty to fix something.

TIA,
Andrea.
