Hotplug is a program which recognizes when USB or Cardplug devices are
connected or disconnected and loads the proper modules and creates the
necessary device nodes.  It shouldn't have any direct relationship to dx
spider.  I doubt that ssh would be involved either (I close port 22 in
my firewall unless I know I will need to temporarily have ssh access
from another site).
