[Dxspider-support] Won't start

I would do this:-

cd /spider
rm -rf perl cmd
cvs update -dP 

but, better yet, if you are just starting out, I would remove the
whole /spider directory (cd /spider; rm -rf *)[please be careful and
*DON'T* do this as root], and then start again.

Do not do any of the 'find' commands that are in the manual, they are
not strictly necessary and must also be done *exactly* as they are shown
otherwise strange results, of the sort you have had, happen.
