Hi Jose,
Please check the runlevel (init) of your normal boot:
1=single user
2,3,4,5=>depends on distro
0=halt
6=reboot
For debian standard runlevel is 2.
Redhat:
2=multi user no network
3=multi with network
4=for you
5=multi with network and X.org
default runlevel, look for
id:2:initdefault:
