Help - any ideas?  FAQ2.3 applies, although the solution does not:  The 
debug log and trace screen evidence spots but these are not recorded in 
(any of the) spots folders nor propagated to a logged on user.

The console.pl time displayed (in UTC) is accurate - ties in with MSF 
linked clock in the shack - so within +/- 1 minute.  Linux exported $TZ 
value is 'Europe/London' and date command (in a native tty or ssh 
screen) shows actual (and correct) time in BST, subject to the same 
tolerance.  No active filters exist.

I've reinstalled Perl a couple of times now (and reinstalled just about 
every other perl-driven app on the system as a result!) and now running 
short of hair to pull out....  Suffice it to say, none of the system 
logs give any clues.  All folders and files are owner sysop, group 
spider.

This was a new install starting at V1.54 (originally 0.96 but 
progressively updated to 0.106 - ...these decimals are a little 
confusing too...) - but the problem has been consistent.

Suggestions very welcome....  TIA
