Ah - progress. I'll take it that "^PCPROT: unknown protocol" is not
what we want to see..... It is output after each incoming message or
spot. E.g.:

1183892357^DXChannel GB7DJK created (3)
1183892357^<- O GB7DJK telnet
1183892357^-> B GB7DJK 0
1183892357^-> E GB7DJK 0
1183892357^GB7DJK channel func  state 0 -> init
1183892357^<- I GB7DJK GB7IPF
1183892357^PCPROT: unknown protocol
1183892357^<- I GB7DJK *** Connected to GB7DJK, Graffham, West Sussex
1183892357^PCPROT: unknown protocol
1183892357^<- I GB7DJK Hello Andy, this is GB7DJK in Graffham, West
Sussex
1183892357^PCPROT: unknown protocol
1183892357^<- I GB7DJK running DXSpider V1.54 build 0.107
1183892357^PCPROT: unknown protocol

...And so on.

...Looks like the $pcno (PCxx codes) is not 'defined' here then (or not
correctly recovered from the incoming message, but that seems less
likely). I did 'load/messages' just in case, but seems this is
irrelevant here.

Where to now?
