Belief can be mistaken, I find. There is a better fix in CVS although, 
what you have will, at least, work a lot better.

However, I cannot account for the delay after receipt of the PC18. All 
my nodes (and I run several test ones that do real work (WR3D, GB7DJK, 
GB7TLH, GB7BAA)) reply immediately. Do you know which build N9EW is using?
