Roland, there is a simple way if your ubuntu works with DXSpider and
nothing else:

1) reboot PC, start DXSpider

check an interface status: ifconfig
or if you have few network adapters, specify an external NIC e.g.
ifconfig eth0

leave DXspider working

After few hours (as many as you wish) say again ifconfig and you will
see all.

See my sample:
ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:14:85:ED:zz:zz
          inet addr:<skipped> Bcast:<skipped>.15 Mask:255.255.255.240
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:3707323281 errors:31374 dropped:0 overruns:0
frame:31374
          TX packets:5060942262 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:1477358742835 (1.3 TiB) TX bytes:5825191361260 (5.2 TiB)
          Interrupt:22 Base address:0x4000

You can see RX and TX bytes as well.

Don't be afraid, this terabytes done NOT by DXSpider :)

73!
