Worked for me too.
Thanks for this tip.
I was told that dx spider could not connect to AR-clusters but the guy was wrong.

The 'Please enter your call' 'NG9R-1' made it work. I had thought I had tried that at least once earlier, but I must have had something else wrong.

  Thanks for all the help.

  Try this:
  timeout 60
  connect telnet dxc.X#XXX.net 23
  call:'ng9r-1'

If that doesn't work change the last line to

  'Please enter your call' 'ng9r-1'

I can connect to my node, but I cannot connect to the spider box from Florida to see the connect script that I have for the ar cluster that I connect my node to sometimes.

The AR node I just tried sends "Please enter your call:"
I'm not sure at the moment if you need the ' before and after your node callsign.

My connect script currently looks like this:

I have the station set as AR Cluster node and he has me set a as a node in
his cluster. I tried it as AK1A style and it still didn't stay connected.

I found out the ARC did not like the 'login' that I have used with other DX
Spider nodes. When it sees the connect request, it returns asking for my
call. With the 'login' in the script, nothing happened. By removing 'login'
I am able to see the ARC node connect but it disconnects after just a few
  seconds.

So I need to add the client line to my script? What is the purpose of that
  line?

  Thanks

  1. Create a script file in /spider/connect:

  timeout 60
  connect telnet <callsign> <port>
  'Please enter your call' 'ng9r-1'
  client <callsign> telnet

Use the callsign of the other node, with SSID if required, and port
number. If the standard telnet port 23 is used, you do not need to
supply that. Name the file with the callsign of the other node.

  2. On your node, enter the command (as sysop): set/node <callsign of
  other node>".

The manual says that "set/node" is for AK1A nodes (which are pretty
rare these days), but it is used for AR Cluster nodes, as well. I
just updated the wiki to show this.

  HTH.
