Hi All,

I've made an important update to WPXLOC.RAW for all DX Spider nodes.
All sysops should update using this file and the latest CTY.DAT.
Until Dirk checks new files into the CVS repository, you should
download and install the latest files from here:

    http://www.country-files.com/wpxloc/release.htm
    http://www.country-files.com/cty/index.htm#Spider

Extract both CTY.DAT and WPXLOC.RAW to your spider/data directory. Run
spider/perl/create_prefix.pl. Then log into the cluster as
administrator and type "load/prefix"

Detailed release notes for WPXLOC.RAW can be found here:

    http://www.country-files.com/wpxloc/release.htm

Why is this update so important? Many spots have been mis-identified
when the entity prefix is NOT unique. This includes the prefixes E5,
HK0, JD1, VK9 and VP8. DX Spider always picks the first entry in the
WPXLOC.RAW file, whether it's the more-common (more-likely) entity
(i.e. HK0/San Andres) or the the less-common (less-likely) entity
(HK0/Malpelo). In most all cases, callsigns in the rarer entity are
already listed in CTY.DAT, so those won't be adversely affected by
this change.

The change is to WPXLOC.RAW, but it's a good opportunity to update
CTY.DAT at the same time, since it's little extra work.

Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C
