Hi Dirk,

I did this to copy from one to the other machine which worked allright.

rsync -ave ssh --delete /home/sysop/spider/ sysop at cluster2:/home/sysop/spider

Then I did a cvs update:

sysop at cluster2:~> cvs update -d

and got this message:

cvs update: No CVSROOT specified!  Please use the `-d' option
cvs [update aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment variable.
sysop at cluster2:~>

I have no idea how to repair this. 
Please advise.
