I am not at home at moment, but casting around for *considerably* longer 
than I think is reasonable (why oh why does no-one think it reasonable 
to document this more obviously), it appears that /etc/event.d is now 
/etc/init.

It *should* be a simple case of plopping the existing upstart script 
into this directory and "killall -HUP init", but the script may need 
some extra dependencies adding to it.
