With windows 7 the telnet program was not included. You have to install a program such as tera term. Its freeware.

Subject: [Dxspider-support] Help please- telnet user on Win 7

Hi,

I have a telnet user who recently obtained a new laptop preloaded with Windows 7.

He has been trying to use the "Run" function to connect to my cluster with no luck.

He has two other devices, a PC and another laptop, both with XP and he has no problems with either of them.

Can someone please give me a quick tutorial of Windows 7 vs Telnet vs <Start>, <Run> function.

My operating system is XP.

I can make a stateside phone call if that would be easiest.

Thanks,
Dave
