[Dxspider-support] Problem with Upgrade

I was having trouble updating the W6RFU DXSpider node to the current 
version because of a problem performing the git update.

Is anyone familiar with this error message?

The state of the show/version after the git attempt remained at the 
version before the upgrade.

I reinstalled git-core, reinitialized it, but then got the same error 
with the cvsupdate script.  I'm using openSuSE v10.2 32-bit version on 
an Intel machine.  I'm logged in as sysop, and cd'ed to the /spider 
filearea before trying the upgrade script.

I went ahead and manually performed the upgrade to build 1.55.0.82, but 
was just curious if anyone else ran into this problem.
