If you are on your own network(behind the router), use the IP address to connect to your node. Such as "telnet localhost 192.168.1.1 7300". If you are using WinXP, you can use the run function from Start-Run then type the syntax like in the quotes.
If you are using a logging software, then substitute the IP address for the URL. Don't forget to connect on the appropriate port(ie 7300).

Subject: [Dxspider-support] Set Up Help
Help...
I am a new user of dxspider. I have installed all the necessary Perl
modules and
can get up and running but I cannot communicate with it from any other
program. I
know this is a very basic question but is there any place where someone has
written a step-by-step guide to getting this beast up and running from
start to
finish. All the "documentation" that I have read and the forums that I
have
visited have been somewhat helpful but there are a lot of "loose ends" that
I am
missing. If this has been addressed before please just point me in the
right
direction and accept my apologies for taking up the bandwidth. I really do
like
this system I just don't understand how to set it up and use it.
