No. Or at least not without breaking any future updating.

What I would suggest though is that they are the result of corruption in
the DB_File (spit) original. A solution might be stop the node, cd
/spider/data, run 'perl user_asc.oo' (the smallest one) and then restart
the node. Feel free to remove a few of the files to make room. This
should remove all the cruft and bring future backups down in size.

A more reasonable size is:

-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 25107269 2012-11-07 00:01 user_asc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 25075500 2012-10-31 00:01 user_asc.o
-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 25048296 2012-10-24 01:01 user_asc.oo
-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 25018577 2012-10-17 01:01 user_asc.ooo
-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 24987999 2012-10-10 01:01 user_asc.oooo
-rw-rw-r-- 1 spider spider 24957591 2012-10-03 01:01 user_asc.ooooo

Another thing I can't help noticing is that your backups are being done
at random times of day and week. How is this occurring? It should be
happening at 00:01 UTC every Wednesday.
