[Dxspider-support] Spider node keeps thinking I'm a node, any ideas?

Rick, I am seeing some of the PC51 codes as well, but I was going to
keep that question for a second posting, but not from OK2CQR.
Here is a snip of some of the PC51 messages I see on my console, but I will
clip out the good traffic so I dont post pages of DX postings.
WB3FFV de WB3FFV-2 4-Oct-2012 2348Z dxspider >
PC51^WB3FFV^HB9VID-2^1^
PC51^WB3FFV^HB9VID-2^1^
PC51^WB3FFV^DB0ZWI-8^1^
PC51^WB3FFV^HB9VID-2^1^
This is all mixed in with normal console output, so I went into the logs for
today, and did a grep for HB9VID-2 and I have some, a bunch of connects and
disconnects, but nothing logged for PC51, so not sure what exactly that is.
Here is a short sample from my logs:
1349398500^DXProt^HB9VID-2 connected from 78.47.138.186
1349398500^DXProt^PC92A WB3FFV -> 38.103.8.24 on HB9VID-2
1349399400^DXProt^PC92A HB9VID-2 -> 78.47.138.186 on KC2CWT-9

1349399700^DXProt^PC92A WB3FFV -> 38.103.8.24 on HB9VID-2
1349400600^DXProt^PC92A HB9VID-2 -> 78.47.138.186 on KC2CWT-9
1349400605^DXProt^HB9VID-2 Disconnected
1349400900^DXProt^HB9VID-2 connected from 78.47.138.186
1349400900^DXProt^PC92A WB3FFV -> 38.103.8.24 on HB9VID-2
1349401800^DXProt^PC92A HB9VID-2 -> 78.47.138.186 on KC2CWT-9
1349401805^DXProt^HB9VID-2 Disconnected
1349402100^DXProt^HB9VID-2 connected from 78.47.138.186
1349402100^DXProt^PC92A WB3FFV -> 38.103.8.24 on HB9VID-2
OK, so I take a look for DB0ZWI-8 in my logs, which DXspider seems to keep
by month, and I dont even find an entry, strange, as I had console output
from that call over the past hour.
Let me take a look for OK2CQR as you mentioned in your mail:

Strange I see connects from that node over IPv6, but PC92A messages from an
IPv4 address, that seems weird, but maybe not. Maybe Dirk will have some
idea what is going on, or maybe how to debug this issue. You really
wouldnt expect any type of incoming message from any other node, to be able
to change YOUR personal login permissions, especially as the node sysop so
that your own node starts thinking youre no longer a user, but another
node, and if it can we have a security hole of some kind present. Just as a
note, the WB3FFV does accept connections over IPv6 as well is IPv4, and we
have node peers over both protocols..

Howard, you have a node partner OK2CQR? I have OK2CQR-10 and in my spider
seems the origin of the problem

As a follow-up to my prior posts, I ran update_sysop and it now knows I am
a user/sysop again. At least that solves the issue of getting on my node,
but it doesn't explain why this seems to keep happening at random times
now..

I just tried running the user_asc to see if it was an easy fix without
having to run the setup again, but that didn't work for me, when I telnet
in, it still thinks I'm a node. Hard to manage it, when you can't
communicate..
Dirk, any ideas?

Yesterday, for second time in little more of one month, lu9da-6 do the
same thing, solved stopping the spider, running user_asc and
re-launching the program.
Is a bug or some corrupted data?

OK, this one has me perplexed, as for quite a long while I have run
the
WB3FFV-2 node, and never had any issues with it. Several months
back (and
I see some others reported it as well), my node all of a sudden
decided that
when I connected to it via telnet, and logged in as wb3ffv, that I
was no
longer a user/sysop, but that I was another node and started the
somewhat
cryptic broadcasts.
After some advice I saw posted, I reran the setup on the node, and
of
course set wb3ffv as a user/sysop and things went back to normal.
Now
another month or so down the road, I go to logon to my node today,
and blamo
it thinks I am a node again:
login: wb3ffv
password:
PC18^DXSpider Version: 1.55 Build: 0.112 Git: b2aa9a9 pc9x^5455^
PC16^G7VJR-5^G4SGX - 1^H25^

1^H25^
PC19^1^GB7MBC^0^5455^H25^
PC16^VE3EY-7^SQ9DIE - 1^H25^
I know I could run the setup again, reset my account and
permissions, but
the real question is, why does this sucker keep thinking I am a
node? This
is a recent over this year issue, and now it's done it again, any
ideas on
to fix and stop this from happening again?
