Try:

git fsck

if all else fails, then clone a new copy into /tmp, rm -f .git in your 
current directory and then mv /tmp/spider/.git .

In general it can be problematic to just power cycle RPis as the SD-card 
may get corrupted. I would always 'halt' them, before power cycling (or 
just 'reboot').

Also you may have run out of life on the card. For something that does a 
lot continuous writing, like DXSpider, you really need the sort of SLC 
SD-card that Newit.co.uk ( 
https://www.newit.co.uk/shop/All-DreamPlug/DreamPlug-Accessories/Endurance) 
sell. I believe that some Transcend and Ex-Pro cards are SLC as well.
