Or on some "IPV6 ready" distros, you can be certain of correct operation 
by using '127.0.0.1' instead of 'locahost'. I believe that this was a 
problem a few years ago when IPV6 started being "handled" by linux 
distros and installations that had IO::Socket::INET6 installed no longer 
worked. I don't think this is a problem any more.
