DXspider v1.55 build 0.215
winsock.exe v3.24 from http://www.bcdxc.org/ve7cc/special/winsock.htm
Windows x64

Hi all,

I keep getting the following errors when setting up winsock.exe to work
with dxspider (either as a Windows User or Admin):
If I start winsock first (that is, before dxspider), dxspider will
terminate with, “starting listeners ..., Internal port: 127.0.0.1 27754
using IntMsg, IO::Socket::INET6: bind: Permission denied, Could not create
socket: Permission denied, at /spider/perl/Msg.pm line 472.,
Msg::new_server("ExtMsg", "0.0.0.0", 7300, CODE(0x2d6d0c8)) called at
cluster.pl line 487”
If I start dxspider first, winsock will write “StartTelnet Address in use"
in the error.log file. Access to dxspider via winsock proxy is denied, of
course.
I have followed the instruction (hopefully all instructions!) on the
winsock page stated above with no success. I have even tried switching the
cluster/user ports, just in case. No luck. I can see this new version of
winsock.exe, v3.24 vs v1.99 mentioned on the above webpage, overwrites
certain fields, ClusterIP is written off, ListeningPort is replaced by
UserPort. I am assuming these are all feature of a newer version of
winsock. I have also set winsock.cfg as read only. No luck.
Obviously, the problem is that both winsock and dxspider listen on the same
port instead of being set in a server/client fashion. Any suggestions? I am
neither a networking professional nor a programmer. Possibly some glorified
Windows user...? Let's better say enthusiast.
