Dirk, as I can see on my dxspider ML archive, you discussed about 
fail2ban with Pater PC2A (it was 8 May 2020).

BTW, because I'm using fail2ban, it may be more interesting also for me: 
could someone provede how to configure the jail for protecting the 
spider service ?
