Oggetto: R: [Dxspider-support] R: DxSpider down crash users.v3j file corrupted ?

Hi Dirk,
The Pc is: MB Intel Atom inside 1,6 ghz., Ram2G and disk is Samsung SSD120

Yes, the conversion from the old users I did and I remember did not give any errors.
But I don't remember and I don't think I deleted the users.v3 file after running perl user_asc in version 1.55

After installing version 1.57 I ran the conversion file but I didn't delete any files before restarting the program.
I must say that the program worked anyway, creating the user_json ... json.o etc. files automatically every Wednesday.

Now after a few months that it worked without problems bat two days ago I had a power problem in the dxspider workstation and the pc shut down.

So it is likely that the users_json file has become corrupted.

Now the users.v3j file is about 28000 KB after redoing the perl user_json check a few months ago in order to have a clean and smaller users.v3j file.

I may have lost some settings but I wanted to be sure to create a stable users.v3j.

Dirk, what if I wanted to recreate a new users.v3j without any user data? Just delete the users.v3j file?

By restarting the Dxspider, the new file is automatically recreated without any user data?

Quite right ? Users will only have to re-enter their data. What do you think about it ?
Thank you
Alex ik5pwj

Alex

Could you remind me what cpu and disk you are running this on?

Did you notice whether the node converted the "old" users.v3 file? Did you remove the users.v3j before you restarted the node after doing a 'perl user_asc'?
