The short answer to your last question is "yes". This is why you have to
change /spider/local/DXVars.pm to a different $mycall and $myalias and
then run /spider/perl/update_sysop.pl AFTER any perl user_json and
BEFORE you start the new instance.
I would also suggest renaming your /spider/local_cmd/crontab before
starting as well. You can then copy what need across from the old
crontab at your leisure.
