Successfully migrated CX2SA-8 to V1.57 build 499

It is working very well so far.

Any errors will be reported.

Also updated the node info on https://www.dxcluster.info/telnet/index.php

Thank you very much Dirk.

73, Jose

Hello Dirk and All

I just updated DXSpider to DXSpider V1.57 build 499

I am very pleased and happy, because the errors have disappeared in vital functions.

The SH/BADIP error remains, but it's irrelevant, since we can see the file in the folder.

It was briefly tested on W2K3 and it worked perfectly.

In the course of the day I definitely migrate to 1.57

Thank you very much Dirk for all the effort to mitigate the errors in Windows.

It has been an excellent job!!

All the best, Jose CX2SA

I believe that I have fixed most of the problems reported on the 'mojo' branch whilst running on Windows. Those users that are on this platform should upgrade. Linux/BSD/unix users don't need to update.

There remains one intractable problem on Windows which is present on all perl distributions (apart, possibly, from ActiveState) which is the inability of perl programs to spawn other processes. So, until some solution is found, 'mojo' DXSpider instances running on Windows are limited to running all commands, that on Linux/BSD/unix start subprocesses, will run 'inline' in the same way as the 'master' branch does on all platforms.

I'm given to understand that badip does not work (properly?) on Windows. If someone can give me more information about this I would be grateful. If someone is running a node using ActiveState perl on Windows, please get in touch so I can coordinate some testing.
