[Dxspider-support] Not seeing spots from upstream connection

Attempting to figure out what I forgot as I can connect to an upstream node, and see spots being sent to me, but nothing is logged or shared with the clients connected to my "node"... I see no "live" spots when connected to the console nor at any LAN connected client. A show/dx returns nothing. If I send a spot from my LAN, then all connected machines see that spot, but not spots sent from the upstream node. A LAN generated spot gets returned when using the show/dx command. Is it simply that I just need someone to add me as a node?

I used the script found here:  https://www.sv5fri.eu/?p=4318424#comments

Am running a LXD container using Ubuntu Jammy (22.04). I received no errors. The script worked nicely. Node is KA3NAM-14 and running this version of DxSpider V1.57 build 524, Capabilities: ve7cc rbn. Upstream connect script works fine, crontab works fine too:

timeout 60
abort (Busy|Sorry|Fail)
connect telnet pi.k0pir.us 7300
'login:' 'KA3NAM-14'
client k0pir-2 telnet

I see it connect, log in and start to receive spots. I do see some command errors which I suspect would be rectified if my node call would be added as set/spider.

I'm getting a bunch of this when starting console.pl. I've truncated it for easier reading, but there are more lines where this came from. I've checked file permissions and (at the moment) they are wide open, so there should be no issue with any user writing to the directory:

/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/152.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/151.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/150.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/149.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/148.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/147.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/146.dat' for reading: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/tac: failed to open '/spider/local_data/spots/2023/145.dat' for reading: No such file or directory

Looking for minds smarter than me to help figure out what I've not done to make it all work..

Thanks in advance for the patience in reading all of this,
