[Dxspider-support] Argument " " isn't numeric

It is 'modern' perl that seems to be tightening up on stuff we, aged,
perl programmers have always taken for granted. It used to be a warning
that was issued when it (might have) mattered, such as doing arithmetic
on 'ABC'. But in this it is because the argument is undefined, it emits
this warning. But I will fix it nonetheless.
