[Dxspider-support] regex and case sensitive

I made the filter below to get rid of the badspots at 2m that we have
been experiencing lately. 
As far as I know regular expressions are case sensitive. However when I
open the filter/spots/user_default.pl file I see that it is saved with
lowercase letters. How can this work? 
FT is passed in the info as uppercase

reject/spot user_default 1 on 144174/144177 by_dxcc DL info {^FT\d\s[-
+]\d.+dB.+\d\d\d\sHz}
