Hi Keith,
thanks for your help.
However I don't like to clear all the dupefile (announces, spots, etc) every hr.
Looking into Changes file I can see some fixes applied years ago:
20Oct02=======================================================================
1. remove dupe check on local sysop announces
09Jun01=======================================================================
7. local announces by the sysop will always be displayed
So I'm afraid these fixes get lost somewhere.
It would be great if they can be re-introduced into the code.
Having said that, I think I've found another solution.
It looks like only the first part of an announcement is checked for
de-dupe, so the variable part (timestamp) needs to be inserted at the
beginning of the announcement.
This gets rid of the de-dupe and announces are sent.
Example:
##Send announce local (At minute 0)
0 * * * * run_cmd('ann local <'.cldate.' '.ztime.'> *** INSERT YOUR
TEXT HERE ***')
