Hi Fulvio,
Part of what you are proposing is already there, in the PC92 that the nodes are forwarded.
But the problem lies as always in:
1. keeping the node upgraded to a stable version/build.
2. Manage it in a way that does not disable the use of PC9x.
3. If you have a node on LAN, use the commands created so that it informs the rest of the Network of its public IP.
4. Be careful with the callsign you assign to your node. It is information that is broadcast (there are nodes called RBN, SKIMMER, ...).
5. Think about abandoning old relics that are no longer maintained.
Some data may be missing such as the port, but everything else is there.
I will shortly publish an experiment that shows what I was just talking about.
Regards,
Kin EA3CV

Hi Dirk & Kin,
My simple proposal to keep the list of active and therefore UPDATED clusters as current as possible could be a simple configuration string in Dxspider, where the sysop is authorized to send the data of their connection to a "central server" (data such as the version of DXspider used, the public IP, and the open connection ports). Maybe it sounds like an absurd request (in fact, I’m not sure if it’s possible to retrieve the public hostname or the public IP address), but one could also include parameters in the configuration file where the sysop enters the data, whether for a fixed or dynamic IP, or the hostname.
Forgive me, but asking all the sysops to update their data seems a bit outdated to me hi hi... but I like to think about proposing this simple initiative.
Kin, with the new Mojo version installed several months ago, I’m very happy, but I’ve lost the ability to use the Web interface. But that’s another problem.
Thanks for reading this far :)

Hi all,
It is also important that nodes send their public IP, not their intranet IP. In the latest builds, Dirk made the effort to implement the possibility that those who have their node on a LAN, can not worry about having to update the IP, but for that a couple of things are needed:
Configure node with Dynamic IP (Mojo branch)
********************************************
Introduce aliasing for localhost in DX Spots and outgoing PC92 A records on login. There are two variables which can be set with the alias to use:
$main::localhost_alias_ipv4
$main::localhost_alias_ipv6
These can be set in the /spider/scripts/startup
set/var $main::localhost_alias_ipv4 = "your_IP"
but this is only necessary if the node has more than one interface, virtual hosts or Dynamic IP.
You can check what your IP is with the following command:
curl ifconfig.me <http://ifconfig.me>
For this variable to work, you must run it the first time:
set/var $main::localhost_alias_ipv4 = "2.2.2.2"
If there is ONLY ONE ipv4 and/or ipv6 Static IP address on the node machine then these variables will be automatically populated on first use. But the SAFE thing to do is to set them in the startup file.
There is a script called update_ip.pl <http://update_ip.pl> (in contributions) that automatically updates this variable.
It can be downloaded at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EA3CV/dxspider_info/main/update_ip.pl
