Asunto: Observations from spot comparison testing
Hi,
Ive conducted several tests as a user, connecting simultaneously to two
different nodes.
The script I used compares the spots received at the same HHMM timestamp and
displays only those that are unique to one of the two nodes under test.
The results were quite surprising I wasnt expecting such a significant
discrepancy between some of the nodes.
Heres a sample of the data gathered:
csharp
Copiar
Editar
[EA3CV-3] --> 91
[AE5E ] --> 8
[EA3CV-3] --> 467
[VE7CC-1] --> 38
[EA3CV-3] --> 115
[N2WQ-1 ] --> 11
[EA3CV-3] --> 22
[GB7DJK ] --> 3
[EA3CV-3] --> 7
[WA8PIE-2] --> 5
[EA3CV-3] --> 35
[EA4RCH-5] --> 11
[EA3CV-3] --> 1
[EA4URE-5] --> 0
This clearly dispels the myth still circulating or believed by some that
the node with the most users or the most links necessarily receives the most
spots.
As you can see, the tests include both DXSpider and CCCluster nodes.
EA3CV-3, the test node, is identical in configuration to my production node
EA3CV-2. It has no special filters applied, apart from standard
badip/badword filtering and the modifications introduced by Dirk in build
611.
DXSpider partners are:
EA4URE-7 R P NODE DXSP
EA8URL-2 R P NODE DXSP
GB7VAX R P NODE DXSP
HB9VQQ-2 R P NODE DXSP
HG8PRC R P NODE DXSP
K1AX-7 R P NODE DXSP
ON3URE-2 R P NODE DXSP
WI3W-3 R P NODE DXSP
The user I used to connect to each node also had no filters defined.
Attached youll find a text file showing the unique spots detected per node,
based on the spot content, not the moment it was received by the node.
