Please, no, no!
It is to ENSURE that the node that connects to us is the PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED one.
It has nothing to do with N1MM or others.
That's my opinion.

You may want to discuss with the developers of N1MM and other loggers to make sure the logger address book has a password field. I’d imagine they will have to update the login process to recognize the cluster is asking for a password and submit it.
INHO, enforcing passwords is more of a change management process than a technical implementation.
