[Dxspider-support] List of outdated nodes

Folks

For clarity - to all my node partners – the node call here at “vk5gr.gate.id.au::7300” is “VK5GR-2” – please make sure your connect scripts reflect that.

The node these days is cloud hosted in a data centre with very good internet backbone connections out of VK so is pretty reliable it seems since I moved it.

Jan,

I have rechecked and believe I may have missed you as a set/spider pa4jj-2 node when the node was rebuilt a while back. I have corrected that now.

Regards,

Grant VK5GR

Hi Grant

I try to PA4JJ-2 connect to your node VK6GR-2 but I cannot see that the connection is established.
I use the adress gate.vk5gr.id.au
Is this correct?

Yes, the node name needs to be displayed, not the sysop name.

Also VE2PKT is wrong, the node is VE2PKT-9

The name of the connection files must also be the same as the node name.

Its been start_connect('vk5gr') unless connected('vk5gr') since at least 2023 - want it changed to vk5gr-2?

Grant,

You have a link to KY9J-2 which seems to be misconfigured by one of the nodes.

I don't know who has it wrong, but VK5GR-2 is as VK5GR, this causes continuous connections/disconnections without the link working.

It could be the value of ‘login’ in the connection file, or the name of the connection file itself.

Hi Grant,

I understand you perfectly.

If it helps, one of the teams that participated in the last MM contest confirmed to me that the node worked correctly.

Thanks.

Kin,

To be honest it was a bit of a chaotic time in the past couple of weeks with multiple updates and issues.

Forgive me if I wait another couple of weeks before I decide it is stable enough to do the upgrade.

Hi,

It has been a reasonable time to consider the latest build 564 as stable.

But only 143 nodes have been updated.
I attach two files with the outdated nodes, one sorted by build and the other by callsign.
There are nodes from when I still had black hair 😭

Try to update, there are very very old builds that should not be working, please.
