[Dxspider-support] The results are in for today (so far)

Hi Kin,
Without hop_table, I could not 'set/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled'. It complained:

      Global symbol "$DXProt" requires explicit package name (did you forget to declare "my $DXProt"?)

How else does this get $DXProt get initialized?

The only place this variable is mentioned is in relation to hop_table in the txt/adminmanual_en.txt

This goes directly back to my request for a clear set of instructions for setting up and securing the dx spider platform correctly.

Hi Kelly,

I don't understand why you use hop_table.pl. Do you want to change the default values of the hops?

I have never had it.

Kin

Good morning Kin and others....

I fear I have missed something important when configuring my dxspider.

I did not have any hop_table.pl in place. I copied in the default and restarted my cluster. I can now do the set/var as described below.

Are there any settings I should add to the default hop_table?

What else am I missing? This was a pretty big OMFG on my part.

As it stands, I have made sure I handle PC9X traffic.

Thanks, and 73 de Kelly

I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to make sure they execute
the following commands:

set/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled = 1
set/var $DXProt::pc92c_ipaddr_enable = 1

This enables the transmission of connection and disconnection information
for nodes and users, which is essential in tackling issues related to bad
spots and impersonations.
