I think that having some particular IP was not the problem, but don't 
following the connection procedure of connection-> spot send -> user 
staying -> user logout,
with users appearing out of the blue and sending spots from you node 
while your node doesn't say to the rest  of the nodes that they (the 
sending users) are already connected to your node.

When a user connects to your webcluster you have his/her call, 
(password) and IP. That is just and no more than the info your node 
should send to the rest of the net nodes, not just the spots.

But I could be wrong...
