[Dxspider-support] Webclusters, the second

Hi.

How is Gregor (or other Webcluster sysops) supposed to log their WEB users into the
underlying Spider with their real IP?

As far as I know there is no option in Spider, to add a specific IP to a login. So all the users
that gets logged in to the underlying Spider, will get the same IP address.

Why is there problem with that?

As long as we know that the user is actually logged in to DO5SSB, I really see no problem in
the IP being the same for all the spots coming from there.

If the underlying Spider is sending PC9* frames for the users that are connected to it, that
should be just fine.

As long as registration and password is needed to log in to the Webcluster, what is the huge
problem then, in having the IP of the Webcluster, show for all spots originating from there?

Instead of doing witch hunts on sources that are actually good, because login and pass is
required to login, maybe we should focus on the many Spiders out there, where everyone can
login and spot without any further notice. Maybe we should get rid of those nodes, before
hunting down sources that are actually OK to trust.

No, I am not running a Webcluster, nor have I ever been connected to one. But we should
really not throw stones, when we live in a house of glass ourselves.
