<div>Hi Mike,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>sorry to hear about the still existing issues.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The bad news are: I cannot tell you what's happening on your cluster node</div>
<div>The good news are: your cluster node is working 100% fine at this moment (16/Sep/2019 12:20UTC), I just did some tests</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Well, I decided to test it on my own and see what the telnet session says. The first test I did was with my callsign DD5XX and HRD through the "Console" view. I connected to hrd.wa9pie.net:8000 ('dxc.wa9pie.net' is the same IP address) First I checked the greeting of your cluster node, everything was fine. As my HRD settings have stored my callsign, my name, QTH, etc... I got the greeting of your dx cluster perfectly as supposed to. Then I created a simple filter with command "accept/spots on hf" and checked if the filter is there with command "show/filter". The filter was there, so far so good. Then I disconnected from your node and re-connected. Right after logged-in I executed "show/filter" and the filter is still there. So in my opinion it's working fine, the filter was saved. You should see a DD5XX.pl in your filter directory on your DXspider node.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Then I did a 2nd test by using a simple telnet connection (telnet hrd.wa9pie.net 8000) and logged in with the user name "DD5XXX" (note the additional third 'X' at the end, just for testing purpose). I created also a test filter, disconnected, reconnected and the filter is there.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>So when you ask me, I'd say everything is working fine. Did you nail down and fixed your problem ?</div>
<div> </div>

<div>Hello Mike,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>please check also the permissions on file system level at the top directory with "ls -ldh ../data". The directory needs an execution permission bit. You might wonder: why won’t the write permission work without an execute permission on the directory? This is because of the fact that you can only retrieve the permissions of a directory when its execute bit is set. If it is not set, the OS won’t know whether it actually has the write permission.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>About the filter settings, they are saved in /spider/filter/spots for each user as a file "<a href="http://username.pl" target="_blank">username.pl</a>" so in my case in that directory I see files like DD5XX.pl, KE4KY-1.pl, and so on ... you could also check those files and the directory permission /spider/filter</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The permissions on my file system looks like that:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>ls -ldh /spider/filter/spots</div>
<div>drwx------ 2 foo users 4.0K Jan 9 14:47 /spider/spots/</div>
<div> </div>
<div>ls -ldh /spider/data</div>
<div>drwx------ 7 foo users 4.0K Jan 23 01:01 /spider/data/</div>
<div>
<div> </div>
<div>But maybe it's something quite different and some other users will reply to your question, too. Hope you get this issue fixed soon. Good luck and all the best.</div>
