      long is to allow as much space for the zone list to allow users to
      see whether the spot is being heard by skimmers in their general
      area. <br>

      The "set/width 120" remark was really an answer to Kin saying
      there's never enough room in 80 characters (a 1980's terminal
      width).<br>
      <br>
      But there is a head of steam building for standardising on putting
      the mode in all comments as the first token. It's never got very
      far because one *has* to put it in and manual spotters don't (as a
      rule) and probably won't in the future. But, as more and more
      people connect to cluster nodes using programs, and if all the
      programs agree to do it, it would create a de facto standard. I
      could even change the dx command so that if you don't enter a
      recognised mode in the comment, asks for one. <br>

                        helpful if N1MM  was to recognise the comment
                        RTT as RTTY. Typical output from the DXspider
