I think it is important to keep things in perspective: self spotting is a SSB thing as CW, RTTY, and FT4/8 contests are already covered by skimmers and RBN. So right there we reduce the number of weekends when non-contesters will see a large number of self-spotting spots. And not every contest allows self-spotting.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">To further consider the impact on non-contesters, I would speculate that on SSB contest weekends they are far more likely to be on WARC bands than on contesting bands...and if they are on contesting bands don't they want to see spots from DX stations participating in the contest? Not many of them have <br clear="none">enabled the RBN feed.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">I doubt that the casual user of a DX-Cluster wants to get a DX spot of some W station spotting <br clear="none">itself 930 times during the CQWW contest.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Its like everything revolves about contesting. Thats not the case.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Many users who use DX-Clusters, couldn't care less about contests.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">I am not saying that DX-Clusters shouldn't evolve, and we should be stuck at how it was 30 <br clear="none">years ago.
