Kin suggested that <span style="color: black;">Yiannis SV5FRI's script on github was the way to go as did a couple of others. So, a fresh install of the OS, ran the script, it completed, no errors. But dxspider isn't running, and won't run based on trying to get a steer from other sources of information. And so, the pointer to Yiannis' script doesn't help, yes it may be installed... but what's next, how is it configured, and run?</span>

I don't know which version of mojo you are upgrading from, but I am guessing one from before we started marking bad IP addresses. If you look in /spider/UPGRADE.mojo it gives a list of all the relevant packages that might be missing. The relevant line is:
<br>
<br>
sudo apt-get install libev-perl libmojolicious-perl libjson-perl libjson-xs-perl libdata-structure-util-perl libmath-round-perl libnet-cidr-lite-perl
<br>
<br>
But if it still does not work properly, please follow the steps in the whole document making sure that, if you originally started with the master branch, your installation has all the changes that mojo requires. Particularly anything that involves automatic startup using systemd et al.

<p>Hi OM Ciemon,</p>
<p>I completely understand the struggle of keeping things up-to-date while expecting some breakages along the way. I also run DXSpider, but I use a <strong>Docker container</strong> to avoid these kinds of issues when upgrading the OS.</p>
<p>Running DXSpider in Docker helps keep dependencies stable and makes it easier to move between different OS versions without breaking anything.</p>
<p>Maybe others in the community have their own way of handling DXSpider across OS upgrades? It would be great to hear how different setups are maintained.</p>

I've been using Linux for a long time, and I'm ok with things breaking during upgrades. After a few failed attempts I got DXspider running last night on Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS but had the reminder that 24.04 LTS was available.

This morning I upgraded and DXspider is broken, I expected that :)

<div>
</div>

So I'm curious as to how this community works towards getting DXspider onto these latest OS versions, and how/if people like me can fix their broken installations through community advice? I'm going to leave it broken for the day just-in-case one of you fine people fancies troubleshooting my installation.
