NOTES:
 
This years AGM falls on Tuesday 15th April, at 7pm in the Clubroom. 
I very much hope we will have a strong turnout of members, of all ages. 
The AGM gives us the opportunity to deal with matters of business for the Club and to review the past year on and off the field. 
There will be reports from Club Officers, Captains will have provided playing records to enable Clive Thorp (Hon Sec) to read out and there will be Awards, as follows :
Ken Gregory Award - Outstanding Young Player 
Club Top Goalscorer 
Ladies and Men's Player of the Year (from man-of-the-match award each week) 
Ossey Vinson's Awards for Most Improved Player, Senior and Junior, Ladies and Men's 
Pelican of the Year - a Chairman's Award for the most worthy Club member for any reason 
Club Colours 
Clive will circulate an Agenda and make it clear what the rules are for proposing new or amended Rules or proposals for the AGM to consider, includung new Vice-President nominations. 
We also deal with Elections of Club Officers at the meeting. A full list of all the posts to be elected will be posted in the Club and circulated, Job Descriptions are written to assist explain the different roles. 
THE CLUB BADLY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO FILL A NUMBER OF POSTS AND PLEASE DO CONSIDER PUTTING YOUR NAME DOWN TO DO A JOB. 
If you've done a job before do a new one - if you've not done one, see what might suit and have a go - Pelicans has to rely on its membership to run the Club which is a big annual task that needs fresh blood all the time, to bring in new ideas, adapt to changing times and provide a flow of new officers/volunteers for the future of Pelicans. 
YOUNG OR OLD - NEW MEMBER OR NOT - YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP, PLEASE. 
The job you volunteer for does not have to be front-line, there are many vital but more low-key roles for people to play. 
There will also be elections of Captains and Coaches - best done by the AGM hearing from within the Playing Section, from the Players, as to who is preferred to do the various jobs and then voting on the nominations (our convention is that Ladies vote for Ladies and Men for Men). SO NOW IS THE TIME TO BE THINKING OF CAPTAINS FOR ALL OUR TEAMS NEXT YEAR, AND COACHES, FOR ELECTION AT THE AGM. 
If you want to know more, ask any Committee Member or your Captain.
